Tawana Jackson

As Property Manager at Durham Community Land Trustees (DCLT), Tawana Jackson brings more than 20 years of experience in affordable housing, property management, and community engagement. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to creating safe, stable, and welcoming communities where residents can thrive.

Tawana’s professional background spans leadership roles as a Community Manager, Assistant Property Manager, and Program Manager with organizations including Community Builders, Durham Housing Authority, and Freedom House Recovery Center. Most recently, she served as Membership Engagement Director at the YMCA, where she strengthened community relationships through outreach, engagement, and member services.

With extensive expertise in HUD programs, Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8), Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) communities, and resident services, Tawana combines operational excellence with a people-centered approach to property management. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships with residents, fostering responsive communities, and ensuring that DCLT’s affordable housing remains well-managed, welcoming, and supportive for every household.
