On Saturday, April 18 at 3:00 PM, join Durham Community Land Trustees (DCLT) and the Grant Street Community for a meaningful gathering at the Hayti Heritage Center.
“Celebrating Grant Street: Stories & Community Documentary Preview” invites neighbors, partners, and community leaders to come together and honor the legacy of one of Durham’s historic Black neighborhoods.
This special event will feature a preview of a short documentary that lifts up the voices, stories, and leadership of longtime Grant Street residents. It will also highlight the enduring presence and impact of Monument of Faith Church in shaping the life and strength of the neighborhood.
Together, we will reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and share a collective vision for the future—one rooted in community, preservation, and long-term neighborhood stability.
At DCLT, we believe that preserving affordability is inseparable from preserving the stories and people who make Durham what it is. This gathering is an opportunity to listen, learn, and stand alongside a community that continues to lead with resilience and vision.
We hope you’ll join us.
