Sherry Taylor

Taylor has fifteen years of experience in real estate development and urban planning. Prior to joining DCLT, she managed $70 million of property with a federal interest for GoTriangle, which provides public transportation service for the Research Triangle Region. She has also worked as a land use and long-range planner for Wake County and as a project manager for a development consulting firm in Charlotte. Throughout her career, Taylor has acquired the leadership experience, project management, team-building skills, and vision that the Executive Director role requires.

Beyond her professional experience, Taylor has been a resident of the Durham metro area for the past fifteen years and is acutely aware of how housing costs affect low-income residents and communities.

“I have a passion for creating positive change in underserved communities and am thrilled to continue my leadership in service of DCLT’s mission,” said Taylor. “I look forward to building new partnerships, working with staff, and generating new opportunities to create more permanently affordable housing in our city.”
