Durham Community Land Trustees (DCLT) is seeking a dedicated Senior Property Manager for a full-time position under the supervision of the Director of Housing Operations. The SPM will be responsible for the property management of all DCLT rental properties, ensuring rental compliance, and supervising the maintenance staff. Our rental units are located on scattered sites and include apartments, townhomes, and single-family houses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee property management for all DCLT rental properties.
- Ensure rental compliance and support residents in both rental and ownership units.
- Supervise all on-site staff, including hiring, training, supervision, coaching, and counseling.
- Determine and communicate productivity standards to maximize property performance and individual success.
- Evaluate staff performance against standards and make compensation decisions.
- Manage operations and maximize the financial value of the apartment community/property.
- Work towards achieving maximum performance based on annual goals to increase revenue and other income.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and three to five years of direct experience as a Property Manager of an apartment community, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Prior supervisory experience is required.
- Valid driver’s license from the state of residence is required.
- Willingness to travel to properties, which may involve county-wide travel with short notice.
- Skill in adapting to different working environments and situations quickly.
- Knowledge of apartment management laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
